2015 Alta Napa Valley Revival CS

92 points – A barrel sample containing a 5% splash of Merlot, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Revival has a deep garnet-purple color and opens with subtle notes of fresh blackcurrant, black cherries and black raspberries with touches of new leather, dried Provence herbs and cedar chest. Full-bodied, concentrated and structured with a solid frame of chewy tannins, it gives a generous amount of black berry and savory favors, finishing with an herbal lift.

93 points – The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Revival is bold, forward, and juicy all qualities readers will be able to enjoy upon release. Blueberry jam, spice, lavender and sweet French Oak fleshed out in an unctuous yet mid-weight Cabernet Sauvignon that delivers the goods. There is plenty to like.

2015 Alta Napa Valley “Oso Malo” CS

93 points – A barrel sample composed of 92 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 2% Merlot, the deep purple-black colored 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon “Oso Malo” delivers notions of baked blackberries, black cherry pie and plum pudding with hints of tree bark, mocha and Indian spices. Very big, voluptuous and full-bodied on the palate, it features loads of spicy layers and a firm frame of grainy tannins, finishing long and spicy.

88 points – Super ripe black cherry, plum, sweet French Oak, and sweet spice are some of the signatures in the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon “Oso Malo”. There is no shortage of depth to this unctuous Cabernet Sauvignon, although there is some heat and edginess to the tannin both of which detract from the wine’s overall balance.

2015 Alta Napa Valley “Quatreaux” Red Wine Blend

92 points – A barrel sample blended of 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 9% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Proprietary Red Blend “Quatreaux” gives a very deep garnet-black color and is scented of blackberry preserves, crushed plums, and wild blueberries with hints of bay leaves, menthol and chocolate box. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers a solid backbone of chewy tannins and lively acid, structuring the juicy black fruit flavors and finishing on a minty note.

92 points – Pretty blackcurrants, cedar, mint, plum liqueur and some underbrush. Full-bodied with firm tannins, a lovely line of fresh acidity and a medium to long finish. Quite tight with tension. Needs time. Blend of 35% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot.

2016 Alta Napa Valley Carneros Pinot Noir

90 points – A barrel sample, the 2016 Pinot Noir has a pale to medium ruby-purple color and expressive nose of black cherries, mulberries and black raspberries with touches of violets and cinnamon stick, plus a waft of underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, the ripe, vibrant cherry flavors fill the palate, framed by satiny tannins and a racy acid line, finishing long and tangy.

2017 Alta Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc

89 points – The 2017 Sauvignon Blanc offers notions of Granny Smith apples, lemonade and wet pebbles with a touch of white pepper. Medium-bodied, lively and vibrant, it has nice purity and makes for a refreshing quaffer.

89 points – The 2017 Sauvignon Blanc (there’s 30% of the Musque clone of Sauvignon Blanc) is a juicy, delicious white that has plenty of lemon and honeyed citrus/tropical fruits, medium-bodied, juicy acidity, and a clean, balanced style. It will be a delicious meal starter over the coming year.
